Family Time
One of the biggest joys in life, for me, is when my whole family sets aside time to get together.
With the lives of families being so busy these days: both parents working, kids in school and activities etc. the time spent as a family as a whole has dramatically decreased. Everyone is too busy running in opposite directions. It's rare, and sometimes difficult, for many people to come together for a meal, let alone for a full day.
I find this time of gathering to be very important for the well-being of myself and my family, that we have kept one tradition (of many) alive... having dinner together. It doesn't matter how hurried our day has been, when it comes time for dinner, everyone is seated at the table. The cell phones are put away and the TV is turned off. We share our day or week with each other, help each other solve any problems and just be there to listen and enjoy each others company. This has greatly solidified the bond we have with one another and I would never trade that for anything in the world.
Designated family time should be an important part of everyone's day.
What family traditions do you share?

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words
Why is it that when a relationship ends, the person with the broken heart dissects the relationship with a fine-toothed comb, trying to figure out at what point the relationship began to fall apart? Why aren't people equipped with an emotional "off" switch for just this reason?
After experiencing a heartbreak of my own, I was feeling down one day so I pulled out some old photo albums. As I sat flipping through each album, I noticed something that I hadn't before; I began to notice an ever-so-slight change in the big, happy, beautiful smile of my significant other. It began to diminish with each album, until it was almost nonexistent.
I would like to think that I am good at reading the body language and facial expressions of others, but when it came to this particular relationship and being in lust/love, I noticed the signs yet almost immediately dismissed them, telling myself that my relationship was rock solid and I had nothing to fix and nothing to worry about. Of course, I was fooling myself.
I am happy to report that since then I have learned to address the subconscious little "red flags" when they occur and have never been happier for it.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
Do you think you can tell how a person is feeling just by looking at a photograph? Test yourself using the photos below.

The Happy Couple
A man who is enamored or in love with a woman proudly has/posts pictures of himself with his significant other, whether the relationship is 10 days or 10 years young, and is rarely seen without a sparkle in his eyes and a smile that could light up a room.

Trouble Ahead
JG with his minimal smile and a distant look in his eyes tells me that he is not happy and his relationship could be in trouble... and she has no idea.

While the woman in this photo looks happy, the man in the photo looks like he would rather be anywhere but here.
Checked Out
If a man never smiles in his pictures it might be that he has already mentally severed ties in his relationship, is an angry individual/emo, has a crooked smile or a mouth full of rotting teeth.
Flying High
I have no idea what BB is thinking in this photo. He's either slightly irritated, bored, medicated or all three.

ANGRY
Everyone is familiar with the face of anger. No explanation is needed for this photo.

The Player
Almost every photo of this guy is taken with a random drunk party girl, stripper or Hooters girl. You know the type. His Facebook profile photos usually look like this..
The Narcissist
The photos of this guy are always of himself. No one loves this man more than he does.

National Sisters Week - June 29, 2011
My sister is a nuisance...
My sister is a pain.
If it were up to me
I'd leave her outside in the rain.
But don't you tease my sister
or be mean to her at all,
'cause I'll stick up for my sister
'cause she thinks I'm 10 feet tall.

June 29, 2011 begins National Sisters Week
Your sister is your first friend in life. No one can understand your crazy family like your sister. Even if you don’t get together or talk as much as you should, she will always remain your friend. She will hold your hand for a little while but your heart forever. It’s National Sister Week. Re-post if you have a sister you love with all your heart.

June 21st - The Official Day Of Summer
Today is officially the first day of summer for 2011.
Needless to say I LOVE SUMMER!!!
Everything comes alive when the SUN comes out.
So grab a tall, cold glass of iced tea, beer or any other thirst quencher,
your favorite sunscreen (Hawaiian Tropic, of course),
an Ipod full of good music,
and head off to a quiet corner of your back yard or the beach to relax.
I hope you enjoy this first day of summer!
What do you love about summer?

Happy Father's Day!
"Anyone can be a father, but it takes a special man to be a dad." "Dad" is not just someone you are... It's something you do... from your heart.
Happy Father's Day to all the men out there who fill this role for a child.
You are loved!
Enjoy your day.
